A Gift of Thanks from Oakton Community College

On September 27, 2021 members from Oakton Community College came to Village Hall to present a plaque to Mayor Brad Stephens. Dr. Ruben Howard the Director of Workforce and Strategic Partnerships and Shannon McKenzie, Internship and Apprenticeship Coordinator came by to thank the Village of Rosemont and presented a plaque as a token of their appreciation for sponsoring one of their students who gained work experience in the Creative & Design Department. Oakton Community College feels that their employer partners are an exceptionally important part of the educational journey for many of students and were grateful to the Village for providing a valuable experience during their students internship. Student internship programs are important to the Village as well.  “It’s very beneficial and a great learning experience for students looking to apply what they have learned in a real-world situation” said Mayor Stephens “We are very fortunate to be able to provide internships and look forward to seeing each one continue on with successful careers.”
