The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center continued to take big steps on becoming more energy efficient on Tuesday, by replacing 10 older HVAC units in Halls A & C. The installation of these roof units is the latest in their ongoing effort to preserve natural resources and become more “Green”. As a host to many national & international shows and conventions they feel it is their duty to do their best to help with environmental conservation.
Other recent upgrades have included, switching from fluorescents lights to linear LED lighting through out the entire facility, and replacing propane fueled forklifts with electric lifts that leave minimal impact on work areas on indoor areas where ventilation is a challenge. Other benefits for having electric utility vehicles are that EV’s have no emissions, they are cleaner & quieter, onsite fuel storage is eliminated and there is fewer waste fluids to dispose of.
These are just a few of the initiatives that demonstrate the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center’s commitment to sustainability and its leadership in promoting environmentally responsible practices in the event industry.
