Rosemont Celebrates Grant from CN Railway and America in Bloom in the Pearl District
This past Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Village of Rosemont and the Rosemont Public Works Department were honored to partner with America in Bloom and CN for the second year to create another community beautification project.
This project was made possible through a matching grant from CN Railway’s “EcoConnexions From the Ground Up” program, administered in the U.S. by America in Bloom.
With the help of the Rosemont Public Works Department, the project features the installation of honey locust, maple and serviceberry trees, enhancing the green space along Pearl Street and Balmoral Avenue near the CN Railway line.
The new welcoming entrance to the Pearl District makes the area more inviting. Trees provide many benefits for creating a stronger sense of community while making public spaces more vibrant, attractive, and enjoyable for residents and visitors, which is something that Rosemont is proud to promote.
We were also joined by representatives from Dave & Buster’s, The Rose Hotel Chicago O’Hare, and Truluck’s, who came to express their gratitude for the new entrance enhancements to the Pearl District.
Now in its 13th year, the “EcoConnexions From the Ground Up” program supports CN’s commitment to environmental stewardship by partnering with communities along its rail network to promote sustainability and beautification.
Through programs like America in Bloom, Rosemont joins hundreds of communities across the country working together to cultivate beauty, sustainability, and a strong sense of place for future generations.
