Steered by Pat Nagle, Allstate Arena goes toe-to-toe with United Center for shows
ROSEMONT, Illinois – Proximity to O’Hare airport and the suburbs, a top-of-its-class venue, and great staffing and organization are among the reasons that Allstate Arena Executive Director Pat Nagle gives for the continued success of the scrappy live entertainment venue in Chicago’s near northwest suburbs. But according to some, Nagle himself is one of the reasons for the success of the Allstate Arena.
“Pat knows this industry inside and out,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “His leadership is one of the reasons that artists continue to come back to Rosemont year after year.”
Nagle was honored this week by Pollstar, a worldwide trade publication focused on the global concert and live entertainment industry, as one of their VenuesNow 2026 All-Star Honorees.
For his part, Nagle credits the Allstate arena as a major driver of the venue’s success.
“There isn’t a bad seat in the arena,” said Nagle. “It feels more intimate than an 18,000 seat venue normally does, and that’s a big reason why agents, performers, and artists love playing here.”
Nagle has worked for the Allstate Arena, formerly known as the Rosemont Horizon, since 1989 when he cut his teeth as an accountant. He also serves as the general manager of the Rosemont Theater.
“A good concert, hockey game, or circus doesn’t just happen on its own,” said Nagle. “We have a great team that runs a great facility. Combine that with our geographic location and it’s not hard to see how we compete with some of the best venues in the country and world.”
