With over 140,000 square feet of training space, including two diamonds and five cages, The Dome the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont is the largest indoor baseball structure in North America, and IBA is committed to making it a cornerstone experience for baseball players from the Midwest and beyond.
Illinois Baseball Academy works with community baseball associations and park districts to provide innovative and thoughtful programming for youth ages pre-kindergarten through high school. Additionally, IBA offers facilities-based training for players and coaches at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in what many are calling “the premiere indoor baseball facility in the country.” Finally, Illinois Baseball Academy provides educational opportunities aimed at improving the quality of coaching via clinics and a formal certification process.
Illinois Baseball Academy is committed to developing the finest coaching talent possible. Our staff is comprised of former college and professional players, each of whom is trained in the Illinois Baseball Academy methodology ... they are carefully chosen - not just for their baseball skills – but also for their ability to be positive role models for players on and off the baseball diamond; join our team and experience the difference that IBA coaching makes.
Chris Beacom, the founder of Illinois Baseball Academy, is highly renowned in Chicagoland as both a former player and coach. A High School All-American at New Trier, Chris played collegiately at Northwestern University where he earned All Big-Ten recognition and was selected team captain. After his senior season, he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays organization, and in his rookie year earned the honor of Blue Jay's "Minor League Player of the Month."
Upon completing his professional baseball career, Beacom joined the New Trier High School faculty as an English teacher and was appointed Head Coach of the New Trier varsity baseball team. In his 25+ years of coaching, Chris Beacom has helped shape the careers of hundreds of players-from t-ballers to Division I standouts-even a handful of pros.
Coach Beacom considers some of his greatest accomplishments to be the relationships he has cultivated with players and their families over the years; for him, baseball has always been a vehicle for teaching life lessons, and Illinois Baseball Academy is an extension of his philosophy.
