Built in 1971, replacing the soaring steel and glass structure that once stood in its place, the Concourse at Chicago Union Station was last renovated in 1990 and does not meet the demands of a modern train station. The Concourse Improvement Project will make more room for passengers and provide a higher level of service and amenities.
During a community survey conducted between November 2023 and January 2024, many customers noted bicycle storage as a need at Chicago Union Station. This survey aims to learn about the needs of the cycling community to guide important decisions around bicycle storage and amenities at Chicago Union Station.
