A new restaurant that will serve pizza and locally brewed beer in Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park entertainment district is scheduled to open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
The site is the former location of the Hofbrauhaus German restaurant. The 20,000 sq. ft. building will also become the home of Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar and the Tiki Tiki bar. Pete’s operated in the entertainment district a few years ago before closing.
Crust Pizza is owned by the Matushka family which also owned and operated the Hofbrauhaus for eight years. It will occupy 14,000 sq. ft. of the building. Pete’s will occupy 5,000 sq. ft. and Tiki Tiki 1,000 sq. ft.
Owner Mike Matuschka explained that the same equipment used to brew beer for the Hofbrauhaus will be used for the same purpose at Crust. That “very expensive” equipment was built and imported from Germany.
