One of the original businesses that leased space in Rosemont’s new entertainment district 12 years ago closed its doors on New Year’s Day because its owner, Roger Greenfield, was ready for retirement.
Village officials have already begun work finding a new tenant for the Park Tavern site that’s located at the south end of the district that’s now named Parkway Bank Park. Interest is high, said village officials. The building, which has a patio area, is approximately 7,000 sq. ft. in size.
According to Mayor Brad Stephens, the village, which owns the district and its individual properties, has launched a marketing effort to attract a new tenant. He explained that he is hoping that a dining venue can be secured. He said the village’s new direction for the district is to attract more dining offerings instead of bars.
“We want to be more consistent in what we’re doing,” Stephens said.
