Rosemont Public Safety New Firetruck Push-In

A push-in ceremony officially welcomed the Rosemont Public Safety Department’s new Tower Ladder 56 firetruck. This truck will replace the then current Truck 56 as our front line response truck. It is similar to the previous truck in that is has a 100 ft. aerial ladder. The older truck was 13 years old and will now be placed as a reserve truck. The push-in ceremony took place at Firehouse #1 just off of River Road last Friday. The department invited retired Public Safety members, along with Mayor Stephens and other elected officials, to join in this special day. This ceremony originates during a time where fire equipment was pulled by horses. When it was time to put the equipment away, members of the fire department would unhitch it from the horse, and manually push in the equipment into the firehouse. Now present day, and it has become a tradition for all fire departments to have a push-in ceremony whenever a department receives new equipment. “It was great to see so many familiar faces,” a department spokesperson said. “Thank you to the committee who worked tirelessly to put it all together. Tower Ladder 56 is officially in service.”
