Prescription Drug Take Back Program

The Rosemont Public Safety Department is partnering with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to help prevent medication misuse and opioid abuse by removing unneeded medication from your home. Cook County residents can choose from over 140 permanent drop off sites to bring their unwanted medication.

  • Collection is anonymous.
  • Pills Only- unwanted/expired human and pet medications.
  • Pills may be brought in prescription bottles, which will be shredded to destroy identity or in unmarked bags.
  • Liquid medication and sharps will not be accepted.Elderly and homebound Cook County residents may dispose of their medication by calling (844)-688-7379 to request a free pre-paid, pre- labeled mail back envelope sent to their home from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department Prescription Drug Take Back Program.
